Cable News Network (CNN) is pretty good. However, some may doubt that it is a credible and impartial news source, given that its headquarters is in North American (Atlanta, Georgia) and that it is owned by Time Warner, a commercial American 'media, communications and publishing' company.

Even so, it does have a good reputation in many countries. But, like all news channels, they may put their own slant on things, and can make mistakes at times.

There are many useful international news sources, each having the potential to present news from a particular viewpoint, or with greater focus on some subjects and geographical regions than others. e.g.

  • Al Jazeera (an Arabic and 'English language' news network, accessible via the internet, or by satellite tv)
  • BBC (various sites)
  • China's CCTV
  • France 24
  • RussiaToday

Most news agencies take seriously their responsibility to report the news, not create it!

However, sometimes, it is not what a channel actually broadcasts but what they may fail to broadcast that might be particularly significant! Therefore it is always good to obtain news from a wide range of sources, and possibly, by so doing, be able to see 'the bigger picture'.
