No. Actually, Canada is a great place. I lived there once. I mean, it has the Niagara Falls, the CN Tower... everything! If you plan on visiting (or even moving) another country, Canada is first choice.

No, Canada is a wonderful country and similar to the United States:

  • Canada turned 141 years old in 2008 and has Provinces and the United States is far older and has States.
  • Canada is under the United Kingdom and ruled by Queen Elizabeth.
  • Canada has Premiers while the United States has a President.
  • The West and East are divided and the West speak English, while the East has more French. Not long ago the French wanted to separate from the rest of Canada.
  • All products made in Canada have to have both French and English written on any labels. Not all people speak French (especially in the West), but in Quebec most speak French and some refuse to speak English. It has been a sore spot for Western Canada for years.
  • Canada and the United States have many major geographical features in common such as: They share Niagara Falls, the Rocky Mountains, the Interior Plains, four of the Great Lakes, the Appalachian Highlands and many rivers.
  • Canada's culture is very similar to the United States and has a melting pot of people from different countries. The Canadian people are generally very laid back and friendly.
  • Although Canada fought in the WW1, WW2, Gulf War it was considered a peacekeeping country until the war in Iraq started. Canada, unlike the United States has a small Army and Navy, but the 'Snow Birds' (Air Force) are one of the best in the world.
  • The most attractive city most other countries want to visit is Vancouver, British Columbia (also called 'The Emerald City') because of it's lush green trees through the city as well as surrounding the city; it has a beautiful harbor which leads out to the magnificent wild and rocky coast line and is surrounded by magnificent mountains. Salmon fishing is abundant and sea life is spectacular. Guided tours are given to see the whales and other sea life and the Fishing Resorts are anything from ultra modern to beautiful carved and magnificent Indian Carvings inside the lodges themselves and chartered boats take avid fishermen out for a day of fishing for Coho or Sockeye Salmon. Vancouver can get a lot of rain, but when the sun comes out it's worth the wait! The winters are mild in Vancouver.
  • Vancouver is a hustle and bustling modern city with great architecture and fantastic entertainment.
  • Many movie studios have been built in Vancouver and movies are made everywhere. Famous actors come here and love it so much they prefer to stay. Goldie Hawn & Kirk Russell live in Vancouver; several actors live near Whistler Mountain; K.D. Lang owns a summer home not far from me close to the Fraser River and on the outskirts of Vancouver.
  • Across from Vancouver one can drive to Whistler Mountain resort, a very modern ski resort with hotels, entertainment, activities of all sorts, great skiing and snowboarding and this is where the 2010 Winter Olympics will be held. The History of Canada is extremely complicated so if one is interested here is a link: http://www.cyber-north.com/canada/history.html
