KANA was a program made by Franze to destory Project Carthage, but something went wrong and when Franze and high daughter, Aelitia traveled to Lyoko, the XANA got them trapped and held Franze prisoner along with Aelita. Franze is the "good guy", why would you think that he would be XANA?
