No. Iran is made mostly of mountains. The Zagros mountains in the West, the Alborz mountains in the North, and the Lesser Caucasian mountains in the Northwest.

The only deserts are in the east. The "Dasht e Kavir" or "Great Salt Desert" and the Baluchistan Desert in the Southeast.

However, in the North, above the Alborz mountains and along the Caspian Sea coast, there are thick, misty forests. There are also many forests and plains along the Zagros mountain range in the West.
