I thought it was but NO its not. Its a great book. If you've read it its and inspiring story of a boy named "peak", hence the name, who climbs the worlds tallest mountain. I know its not true because he was 14 years old and only one person that age has ever summited mount Everest.

∙ 11y agoNo, it's a complete work of fiction. It may have been inspired by the Vesuvius eruption that destroyed Pompeii in Roman times, and / or by the eruption of Mount St.Helens in Colorado in 1980 which killed over 40 people and destroyed part of the mountain, but it's not based on a true story.
