It depends on the players, mostly. But yes, Fatal Frame is indeed scary, sticking the the survival Horror genre. Ghosts will pop out of no where, the sounds add to the creepy effect, and the graphics are great. The storyline also adds to the gameplay, and it is a plotline that'll both make you wince, and make you think.
Overall, it's not so scary that people couldn't play it, but it does have those jump scares.
