No.
ok, i think the person who answered no here may have thought you were talking about the '72 blaxploitation movie with Jim brown by the same name. i believe this question is referring to the 2009 Horror film; and the answer is yes, it is loosely based on actual events. i have tried to find more info about the actual event or whatever online but have met with little success. i even live less than a couple hours from the area where it took place, but still pretty uninformed.
the reason i answer yes is because when you look up any reference to this film on major film sites, it states that it is based on real events. it's not a Blair witch project type thing where the movie just wants to make you think it's real.
It is based on the 'Bloody Benders'.
(This movie might be loosely based on the story of Belle Gunness)
The movie is not based on a true story. After the movie was shot, but not yet to be released, the director read a news article about two men who had kidnapped what they called a "third class individual" who didn't deserve to live in their opinion. After the kidnapping they tortured him to death - they both wore white gloves which is the reason why it's often mistaken that the movie connected with the story from Spain
So the overall answer is: No
If it is about history or the lives of famous people, an biography for example, then it will probable be about true events that really happen. I know about a movie that is supposed to come out soon about Freddie Mercury from the band Queen. Because it is about Freddy, a real person, true events the really happened should take place in the movie.
no! and it could not be, because it includes a living doll and stuff like that
No. Alice Sebold wrote another book though and that one is true. It's a memoir about her life and it's called Lucky. She was raped, I think.

No. Twister is loosely based on the lives of storm chasers but it is not based on any real events. The closest thing in the movie to real events is the Dorothy probe, which is based on a tornado probe called T.O.T.O., which scientists developed in the 1980s.
