Beacause Disney's first African-American princess has a white price. It is actually very confusing becase in many pictures he looks more white than black, but it is hard to tell and he is voice by a brazzilian man. Disney has also changed Tiana's name and profession. She was at first named Maddy, the name was changed due to it sounding to much like Mammy which is what many slaves that worked in the house were called. Tiana was,at first, a chamber maid but now she is an aspiring restaurant owner and chef.

How tall is princess tiana from the princess and the frog?

Most say Tiana is tall, and at most Disney Parks is around 5'8'' to 5'9'', she might be even taller, because Disney doesn't hire any girls as princesses over 6'0.

What is the summary of the frog princess?

For the upcoming Disney Movie "The Frog Princess," the difference will be that it has Disney's first African American princess. That AND its in the USA in New Orleans, in the 1920ish era. Which shall make it very interesting to see how they pull off that story. I would much rather have her be a normal European princess, she can be black and all,(adopted maybe???) no problems there, just the time period is way off. I think that if Disney wants to appease the black community than they should find a African Princess story and make it just as amazing as the ones they have done,(European like attire) just base it on there heritage. They have some really good ones, I have read many. * Oh and I am not racist so do not try and say I seem to be, if that's what you think. I just like stories to be as close to the original storyline as possible, because they are awesome stories.

How many Disney characters are there?

The official list from the Walt Disney Company consists of TEN princesses:Snow White, from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs(1937)Cinderella, from Cinderella (1950)Aurora, from Sleeping Beauty (1959)Ariel, from The Little Mermaid (1989)Belle, from Beauty and the Beast (1991)Jasmine, from Aladdin (1992)Pocahontas, from Pocahontas (1995)Mulan, from Mulan (1998)Tiana, from The Princess and The Frog (2009)Rapunzel, From Tangled (2010)Although they are included in the Disney Princess franchise, Cinderella, Belle, and Tiana are not princesses by birth. They became princesses through marrying princes. There is also some controversy about Pocahontas and Mulan being included in the Princess list. Pocahontas is the chief's daughter, but Native American tribes differ from tradition European royalty. Mulan is not royal by birth and marries a general, not a prince. There are 9 Disney Princesses. Mulan is not a princess, neither is Pocahontas. They are strong female leaders but not princesses. Princesses have to be born or married into royalty to become princesses. Native American Indians do not consider their Chief a king. He is a political leader and governor (sort of like the president) and can be elected. Pocahontas marries a general and adventurer who works for the king but is not royalty. Likewise with Mulan's case. Mulan's people do not have kings and queens either. They have emperors. Even in that light Mulan is still no princess. She is a general's wife. She and Pocahontas both live beautifully rich and prosperous lives as the wives of generals and change the way that their people think and look at others. People tend to think they are princesses but they are not. The 9th Disney princess is princess Sofia of the Disney show Sofia the first (2012). All of the princesses are white except Jasmine (Arabian), Tiana (African/Caribbean American) and Sofia (Biracial/ Latina and White). And all of the Disney princesses except Sofia are based on the fables from Grimm's fairy tales. Mulan and Pocahontas on the other hand, were based on the lives of two real women. The Chinese Warrior Hua Mulan,Wei or Zhu (Mulan) and The Native American Matoaka or Amonute (Native Americans do not use last names and Pocahontas was her nickname.) She married John Rolfe in real life.

What princess costume can you wear to Disney and ride roller coasters also?

Actually, you cannot wear any costumes in the Disney park if you are over the age of 10. But if you are under the age limit, I would recommend a Jasmine costume... since it has pants instead of a long skirt.
