Yes. You can buy an enclosure at many stores that sell hard drives. Install the laptop HDD in the enclosure (be sure to get the correct size). Then it will connect to a desktop USB port.
If you are watching Firefly on a desktop, you can use a site such as Subscene or Opensubtitles. Look for Firefly in their database, download it to the same folder as the multimedia player you are using, and it should work that way.
If you have the same connection on both the games machine and the computer then all you need to do is plug in a cable between the two machines and have the computer move the information around. Most games machines store information in a different way to desktop and laptop computers so you may be trying to do what cannot be done
Even if you found a way to connect it is would not allow the Laptop to work and only serve as a HDTV for the PS3. You would not be able to use the laptop to influence the game play. The PS3 would still need the power source and controller and you would still need a separate WiFi or Ethernet internet connection for online play. You would merely be using the A/V output of a PS3 to connect and play on your laptop
At this time, the only way to increase the storage on your PS3 system is to purchase an internal HDD that will have to be manually installed. You can purchase external memory but only certain things can be stored on that such as wallpaper, music, and video content.

Yes. You can connect a laptop harddisk (2.5" form factor) to a desktop. Easiest option is to use a 2.5" external harddisk enclosure and connect it to desktop using a USB port. You need to check if the HDD is Serial or Parallel ATA and you can get a corresponding enclosure. - Neeraj Sharma
Way-1> You can connect both of your machines by using a cross-over cable. For this you need the NIC (Network Interface Card) to be installed on both of your machines. Way-2> If your desktop computer has bluetooth service install then it is the best option. Way-3> You can use some removable storage media like thumb-drive, USB drives or external HDD.
Desktop is way cheaper.
The only way you can do that is to buy any external HD case that has either a firewire or USB interface on the back. Install the HD in the case and use one of the two interfaces I mentioned to connect it to your laptop. you get a external plug it in by the cable that is provided into the usb of fire wire por on your pc/mac
There is no way. You would have a buy a PC.
You can but not in the exact way like you are saying. You can use remote desktop to connect to more powerful system. And in this way to use a laptop like a screen and keyboard to control a remote pc.
Laptop hard drives are very similar to desktop hard drives, indeed they work in exactly the same way and even use the same interfaces. However laptop hard drives are designed to be much smaller (2 inches as opposed to 3.5) and draw less power than desktop hard drives. As a result laptop hard drives are usually much slower in terms of data transfer and have much smaller storage capacity than a desktop hard drive of the same year manufacture. With an adapter it is possible to use a laptop hard drive in a desktop computer, and if mounted externally it is also possible to use a desktop hard drive on a laptop.
The same way you do on a Windows 7 desktop.
The same way you would a desktop. COnnect printer with usb install drivers etc and use normally
using a cradle.
As a laptop repair tech I see this problem often and there are only 2 ways to remove the HDD password on your Gateway computer. First way is to contact Gateway Support and they can calculate the HDD master password for your hard drive.
The exact same way that you would install the same eMail on a desktop, running the same operating system as is on that laptop.
