Is there any proof of African American lineage to the 12 tribes of Israel instead of Africa?
No. There is no genetic, historical, or scientific link to substantiate the Black Israelite Churches' claims that they are descended from the Twelve Tribes of Israel.
If anything, the Lost Tribes of Israel would be assimilated into the Middle East. The Black Israelite Churches believe that they are the Tribes of Israel regardless of any evidence. They also believe this in spite of the facts that many of the peoples they consider to be Israelite Tribes are either wholly or partially mixed with non-Blacks (such as Whites or Native-Americans). This should cause major theological problems since the Black Israelites' claim to be the true Israelites rests on the fact that they were moved by ships and sold in distant lands which did not occur for either Whites or Native-Americans.
Even the Biblical claim that the Black Israelites make is flawed. Most Black Israelites cite Deuteronomy 28:68 (below) as the proof that they are the Tribes of Israel. They were sent in ships to be sold as slaves. However, they do not see the final italicized words of the verse which say that nobody will purchase the slaves, indicating that the slaves would not be desired or bought. This is contrary to the history of the African slave trade which was an incredibly lucrative business since there was a high demand for slaves in the New World.
