∙ 12y agoIt was recently posted that many fans have expressed interest in seeing the Vengeful Scarecrow from this movie as the villain. The story would not be set after the events of this film, but rather pick up where the first movie left off. A proposed storyline could have opened the film with the gang unmasking the Ghost of Captain Cutler and then move forward with now Principal Grimes introducing them to their case with his friend, Old Man Frickert.

Whether a new season is produced comes down to the decision of the production companies and networks. For a show as successful as Scooby Doo, the decision is almost certainly "yes" to another season.

Also, in the most recent live-action Scooby Doo movie, "Scooby Doo and the Curse of the Lake Monster", we see Shaggy pining after Velma but she is being possessed by Wanda Grubwort to notice.
