While there is no additional charge for the PS3 use of the internet you still must pay for the internet service and also whatever additional expenses if any might be required for router, cables, etc needed the initial connection. There is no Fee like the Xbox to use the PS3 however it says in the PS3 information and ads that Online connectivity requires broadband internet service and network devices such as a DSL or cable modem. That means you may have to purchase equipment so you can have a WiFi connection or a router to connect an additional device through your cable modem as well as get an internet service if you do not already have one.
