The ship RMS Titanic sank on the morning of April 15, 1912. Although eyewitnesses claimed that the ship had nosed down and directly sank, both modern theories and the 1997 movie showed the stern break away on the surface. There is no way to ascertain if this occurred, or if the ship split while sinking at a shallow distance underwater.

The sinking process as shown in the film :

st. The lights went off

nd. It started to groan and make noises

rd. The upper decks started to crack and split a little

th. The middle part made a huge noise showing electricity exploding a little

th. The grand hallway was smashed

th. It gave away and the paint /steel /wood separated

th. It broke as the stern leaned down. It kept and there was no stopping

th. When it hit the water, it killed people (in the water) and made a huge splash. Some people on the stern fell off into the water.

th. The other piece (bow) of the Titanic was still connected on the bottom and started to drag it down. The smokestacks fell off into the water and people were screaming.

th. The ship fully sank and the stern was raised up and was standing for 6 minutes then it went down.
