The anonymous female voices identified as "Tokyo Rose" (and her counterpart Axis Sally) were often Asian women who spoke English to attempt to discourage Allied servicemen with disinformation, Propaganda, and taunts. Unlike her male counterparts such as Lord HawHaw, Tokyo Rose was never identified as a distinct person and was likely a number of different women.

While it is suggested that Amelia Earhart may have been captured by the Japanese, her use as a political pawn probably would not have taken that form.

Iva Toguri (later Iva Toguri D'Aquino) made propaganda broadcasts as "Orphan Ann" on a Japanese radio show. She was tried and convicted on charges of treason in 1949, but was later pardoned.
