On Labor Day afternoon, Monday, September 5, 1921, Arbuckle and Hollywood friends were partying at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco. Along for the ride was a part-time actress named Virginia Rapp. Arbuckle and Rapp were in the bedroom of one of the 3 suites rented by Arbuckle for the long weekend. Other partyers heard Rapp screaming and then Arbuckle screaming back at her. He ordered friends to take her back to her room. Instead they took her to the hospital where she later died of peritonitis. Her bladder and sexual organs ripped by a foreign object. Before dying Rapp told her nurse 'Fatty Arbuckle did this to me. Don't let him get away with it.' Rapp died on September 10, 1922. Arbuckle was arrested for the rape and murder but was aquitted of all charges. But his career was vitually over. The American people were not as forgiving as Arbuckle's jury. He died a broken man at the age of 46 in New York on June 28, 1933.

Kevin Jamal Woods played Stymie in the Little Rascals remake. However, Coleman was to have played Stymie in a proposed Little Rascals TV remake the Norman Lear produced around 1977.
