I can't remember the guys name, but although I haven't seen the factory, I can say it is most certainly based on a true story. He had a house with a family upstairs that was his "real family", under the house was what can only be described as an elaborate facility. It was almost like a little self contained town, pretty large in scale. He had kidnapped women down there who he impregnated and then made raise the kids. This went on for some time. I can't remember if his wife knew about it, but I saw a few different docs on the story long before I ever heard of this movie. I'm sure they embellished quite a bit, but as I said... some of it is true at least.
