Titanic (1997) was a fiction film inspired by a true event, and there are a lot of fictional scenes in the movie that did not take place in real life.
The real RMS Titanic hit an iceberg in the North Atlantic on April 14, 1912, and sank on April 15, 1912. Over 1500 people died because there were not enough lifeboats on the ship, so most people froze to death in the icy waters. There was no Jack and Rose on the real RMS Titanic. The lookouts, Frederick Fleet and Reginald Lee, did not see the iceberg because they were not given the binoculars they asked for. In the movie they are too busy looking at Jack and Rose kissing to notice the iceberg until it was too late to warn the bridge in time to avoid a collision. First Officer William Murdock probably died of natural causes. In the film, he takes a bribe from Cal, then gives Cal's money back to him, and kills himself, just like Judas Iscariot is supposed to have done (taken a bribe, give the bribe back, then killed himself).
No, that aspect of the film was a work of fiction.

Having said that, 19 year-old Kate Florence Phillips was eloping to America on Titanic with Henry Samuel Morley, her boss, who had given her a sapphire necklace set-in-diamonds. He was lost but she lived and wore the necklace.
