Lucy got on the wrong side of guest star William Holden while dining in the Brown Derby in Los Angeles. Of course Ricky brought him home to meet the wife so Lucy had to disguise herself so she would not be recognized by Holden as the nut from the Brown Derby earlier in the day. She put a fake nose on and when lighting a cigarette the fake nose caught on fire.
After Lucille Ball's death that episode aired and it turns out that the nose catching on fire was an accident. But being the professionals that they were, Holden, Dezi and Lucy didn't miss a beat. She let the nose burn and the men just played along. This had to be one of the funniest moments in TV history.
