Three dogs were taken on the lifeboats. Breeds include Pomeranian and Pekingese.
According to historian Don Lynch: "Mrs. Rothschild's Pomeranian was killed by another dog in Central Park within weeks of the disaster. Margaret Hays gave her Pomeranian to her maid of honor, who passed it on to her sister. It was stolen or ran away in 1917. I don't know what became of Mrs. Harper's Pekingese."
