Wicca, as formed by Gerald Gardner, really only draws on two traditions:
The traditional witchcraft of the pagans around Europe which included worship of nature and emphasis on the god and goddess
The mystical lodge system that was growing in popularity at the turn of the 20th century with groups like the O.T.O.
Wicca was derived by mixing these two elements so that there was a formal ritual style, its own dogma and laws, and a focus on naturalism.
