A 17 year old can have many reasons to move out but that does not make her legally emancipated. If she is in distress, she can ask the court to decide. But if she does not have any money, it would be difficult to find a place to live and could be getting into even more problems. She should speak to a school councilor or a minister/priest/rabbi.

there are some serious consequences that may not of come to mind ut running away is a major decision and should e talked about with friends or who ever you are close with. This should take serious thought ecause the consequences are great and could affect your life forever or for a long time. How would you support yourself and what would you do? If somethings wrong at home or you are having any prolems you should talk to someone about them. Cartman

It depends upon the circumstances of the individual. The age of majority for Alabama is 19, therefore it would not be strictly legal, but if the parents did not object to the move authorities would not intervene.
