the first differnce is that an explosion is accompanied by a shockwave and requiers someone to detonate it or it can be done by pressure plate but thats off topic i leaves very little in the way of residue unlike a fire which leaves ash and you can put out a fire you cant put out an explostion this is best illistrated by the bombs that people straped to them selves (suicide bombing) you cant put them out if one sets a fire can easaly be put out thats the big difference but un less its like the fire storm in the the londons subway system that turned into a fire storm that caused an explostion (to be continued)
