There are few places or societies in the world that did not use slave labor and trade in slaves. The ancient Egyptian, Greeks and Romans depended on slave labor. The natives of North and South America used slaves long before the Europeans arrived. Much of the early slaves were procured by winning battles and wars and enslaving the captured enemy. In many place like the middle and far east, women were held as concubines, which is a form of slavery.
Prior to the 1500s, slavery was not based on skin color. Slaves were merely those who had been bought, captured in war, or kidnapped. Slaves of all races were severed from their roots and became part of their new society.
Nobody has slaves anymore. It's against human rights.
