What do you do when your Pokemon pearl game on your action replay DS comes up unknown version?

you need to look at the little code in the bottom left corner of the screen (next to where it says uknown version) and write that down the take out the game go to add new game and it should ask yyou to type the name of your game eg.Pokemon pearl then click next it should ask you to type in a code now just simply type the code you wrote down eirlier don't forget to put action replay back in otherwise it wont save (you wont start off with any codes but you can Google sum if ya stuck for codes eg.i have the nort American version of the game the code is APAE-31DOAFDE and i go on neoseeker.com for all my codes)

The game ID is a code that tells the action replay what game you are using cheats on. Without the code, the action replay won't know what game you're talking about. Writing "Pokemon Pearl" or something else doesn't tell the Action Replay which game you want to use your codes on, so without the game ID, Pokemon Pearl will not be recognized by the action replay device. So, you must edit your Pokemon Pearl file, and where it says ID, type in APAE-31D0AFDE. APAE-31D0AFDE is the ID for the Pokemon Pearl game, so this should wliminate your problems.
