The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) was founded in 1912. It was established to provide a standardized system for the classification and censorship of films in the UK, aiming to protect audiences from potentially harmful content and to ensure that films were suitable for different age groups. The BBFC's creation was also a response to growing concerns about the influence of cinema on public morals and behavior.
The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) determines a film's rating based on several criteria, including the themes, language, sexual content, violence, and drug use portrayed in the film. They assess these elements in relation to the age group for which the film is intended and consider the context in which they are presented. Additionally, the BBFC takes public opinion and societal standards into account, ensuring their classifications reflect current cultural norms. Finally, they often consult with a panel of trained examiners to reach a consensus on the appropriate rating.

I didn't find the first movie, however I did find a list of movies banned by the BBFC, the link is below.
BBFC ratings are typically provided free of charge for consumers, as they are intended to inform the public about the content of films and video games. However, accessing the official BBFC database or obtaining detailed reports may involve fees for industry professionals or distributors. It's best to check the BBFC's official website for specific guidelines on accessing their ratings and resources.
4 out of 5
M by ESRB, PEGI 18 and BBFC 15
to age rate films
So far there is no official rating from bbfc though PEGI have rated it an 18+. Accordng to the bbfc website the makers of Black ops cut 2 acts of strong violence which will hopefully lower it to a 15. If bbfc do rate it 15 PEGI are likely to change their rating.
The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) is primarily funded through fees charged for its classification services. Film distributors, video publishers, and other content creators pay these fees when submitting their films or videos for classification. Additionally, the BBFC may receive funding from grants or sponsorship, but its main revenue comes from the classification process itself. This structure allows the BBFC to operate independently while maintaining its role in regulating film and video content in the UK.
No, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) uses standard categories such as 15 and 18 for age ratings in the UK, not 15A or 18A. The "A" suffix is not part of the official classification system.
It is rated '15' by the BBFC. It is the 5th installment in the Elder Scrolls series. Unlike the ratings from the ESRB in North America, which are only advisory, the BBFC ratings are enforceable by law, and UK retailers may face hefty fines if they sell to anyone under the age of 15. According to the BBFC the rating is because of the "strong violence" the game contains. It is for a PC but we can be sure it will be the same for both 360 and ps3.
18+, read the BBFC rating
