MA or mA on a multimeter designates milliamps, or "thousandths" of an amp of current flow.
To check the IC by the multimeter, you have to make sure that the pointer points at the current. You can then connect the multimeter across the check the IC.
You disconnect your negative (-) battery terminal and connect one of the meter's probes to the (-) battery cable and the other terminal to the (-) battery post. Set your multimeter to mA/A and select DC.

Ohms scale on a multimeter
Donald Macadie, post-office engineer, invented the first multimeter in the 1920's. The original multimeter could measure volts, amperes and ohms.
0.01 mA is 0.00001 A. This is the current required to develop a voltage of 0.01 mV across 1 Ohm. Since it is a series circuit, it is also true that the current on 0.01 mA is present at every point in the circuit.
Where can I get copy explaining what the symbols mean on a sperry multimeter and how to use them. Regards Frank
On a multimeter, DCA stands for Direct Current Amps. A measurement of amperage on a DC circuit.

The spelling "ma" can mean mother or mom. The abbreviation MA is for the state of Massachusetts.
Using a digital multimeter that can measure mA, first disconnect the neg battery cable from the bat then use a jumper wire to reconnect the neg bat cable to the neg bat post. Then set the multimeter to either the 10 amp or the 2 amp mode (start with the 10 amp mode) and connect the leads from the multimeter to the neg bat cable and to the neg bat post. Being sure that all switches and accessories are turned off (doors are closed, under hood light, etc), disconnect the jumper wire from the neg bat post leaving only the multimeter connected. You will now get a reading on the meter that should read under .050 mA. Under .050 mA is desirable. Over .050 mA , look for the cause of that excessive drain on the battery.
Ma fille, ma vie means "my girl (or my daughter), my life"
dc ma
If you mean "Ma se keige/teine", it translates to, "and a girl".
To measure frequency with a multimeter, set the multimeter to the frequency measurement mode. Connect the multimeter's probes to the circuit or signal you want to measure. The multimeter will display the frequency in hertz (Hz) on its screen.
