You need to have the system checked for codes. First hand experience, you can save a lot of money by just simply locating throttle control. Get a picture from internet and then look next to the air filter housing follow hose down to the aluminum housing located on side of engine easy access use a 5/16 socket to remove the hose and the remove housing, unplug wire harness. You can see that it will be gummed up and not allowing the throttle control to move freely. This is the problem. Purchase a can of B12 Carburator and throttle control spray from your local automotive store. Spray inside of housing and using a rag and small toothbrush clean until it looks new again. Look inside of black mounting bracket and clean any oil that is visible. Remount throttle control. Make sure air filter is clean and inside of filter housing is free of bugs, leaves etc. You will also need to replace the pcv valve located opposite side of top (inside) plastic cover. Takes approx 1 hr. complete. This will save you about 200 to 400 dollars at repair shop. Will cost you approx. 18 to 25 dollars to do it yourself. Especially when dealer wants to sell you a new throttle control when a simple cleaning is all it takes.

Warning Of Danger was created in 1985.
Midnight Warning was created in 1932.
Early warning is a marketing tool. There is no early warning. Most radar detectors just detect the signal.
The Gipsy's Warning - 1907 was released on: USA: 5 October 1907

Electric throttle control problem
An electronic powertrain control warning light means a problem in the powertrain control system. It may also mean faulty brake light switch, throttle body issue or mass air flow sensor issue.?æ
That is the indicator for a failure in the electronic throttle system.
Thr engine computer has detected a problem and set a code for the electronic throttle system.
The "EML" warning light in a BMW indicates a problem with the "drive by wire" throttle control system." "EML" is an acronym for "Elektronische Motorleistungsregelung". Loosely translated from the original German for the BMW owner means Electrionic Engine Power Control. "EML" is BMW's system name for electronic throttle management. The "EML" system, in it's most basic sense consists of an accelerator pedal (with an electronic position sensor), a computer module (usu. integrated with the main engine computer), and an EDK (Elektronische Drosselklappe or Electronic throttle valve). The EDK is also known as a "drive by wire" throttle. "EDK" throttles use a computer controlled stepper motor rather than a purely mechanical linkage (usu. metal cable attached directly to the accelerator pedal) to control the opening and closing of the throttle plate. "Drive by wire" throttles are very common on modern vehicles starting in the late nineties up through the present day. "Drive by wire" technology enables very precise throttle control to improve drivability and vehicle emissions, as well as many convenience features like electronic cruise control, traction control & stability control. BMW first implemented "drive by wire" in very limited quantities on the most expensive & sophistocated BMW models starting in 1988. The latest generation of advanced vehicle features to take advandage of "drive by wire" technology are radar guided cruise control, accident avoidance control, autonomous-driving, and autonomous-parking systems.
