In the movie "The Patriot," Benjamin Martin's wife, Charlotte, is deceased prior to the events of the film. Her death is implied to have occurred during childbirth, which deeply affects Benjamin and shapes his character and motivations throughout the story. Her passing leaves him as a single father, struggling to protect and provide for his children amid the turmoil of the American Revolutionary War.
The events of the past always effect the present. For example, In the past, before Word War 1, Canada was the property of the imperialist nation of Britain. Our actions in World War One began to gain Canada its independence. Indeed if it had not been for our actions in the past Canada would still have been ruled by Britain. We would not have been able to make our own decision, or elect our own leaders if this had not happened. There are hundreds of other examples in Canadian history that have changed our constitution, the Treaty of Versailles, the King Bying Crisis etc; each of these events has brought a change into the way Canada work today. The past is the greatest influence on Canada's society, and on any society for that matter. Technically speaking, the events of history shaped the way things work today. Likewise the events of today also effect the events of the future.
The movie "The Patriot" is not directly based on a specific book, but rather it draws inspiration from various historical events and figures from the American Revolutionary War. While it features a fictional character, Benjamin Martin, played by Mel Gibson, the film reflects themes and elements found in historical accounts of the period. The screenplay incorporates elements reminiscent of the experiences of real-life patriots and their struggles during the war.

Army leaders attacked Mexico, so Mexico fought back.
Leaders in Mexico fought for independence from Spain primarily due to growing discontent with colonial rule, including social, political, and economic inequalities. The influence of Enlightenment ideas inspired calls for self-governance and rights, while events like the American and French Revolutions served as catalysts. Additionally, resentment towards Spanish elites and the desire for land reforms further fueled the independence movement. These factors combined led to a widespread push for autonomy and the eventual struggle for independence beginning in 1810.
