The question may really be referring to the Book of Chronicles, which is essentially a rewrite of the Deuteronomic History, but heavily modified, especially in its treatment of David. For example, Chronicles never mentions David's supposed defeat of Goliath, even though the First Book of Samuel gives this battle as the most important reason for the eventual acceptance of David as king.
