There are many geographical features that affect movement in Africa. The many African deserts greatly influence how people live and where. There are many bodies of water that prevent easy migration from place to place. However, these bodies of water also come in handy during sea-trading. Africa's geographical features act as barriers or highways, preventing or aiding in the movement of people, good, or idea. This also impacts the cultural aspect of Africa. The rainforest and desert made these areas difficult to cross. The high plateau in the interior and the river cataracts made movement between regions hard as well.
