Yes I think so because he did not want to suffer about what happened to johnny because johnny was the only person dally had as a family member.
He was totally calm and I think he even said that the switchblade won't scare him into letting Dally see Johnny.
Johnny loved Dally in a way that Johnny had never been loved before. He wanted Dally to know that just because they were greasers, they were people, too.
i think tht as the desription of dally Winston is told it said hes the bravest and meanest looking one so daren kagasoff would be a phanominal character to play this part.:::))))) LOVE,
