The army was deactivated after the Clone Wars, when Darth Sidious rose to power as Emperor of the Galactic Empire. Despite the army being deactivated, various members of the droid army remained active, including the super tactical droid General Kalani and his group of battle droids. These small groups of remaining battle droids and Separatist individuals were mostly hunted by the Galactic Empire in the early years of the Empire.
