It's honestly not that good of a film. It's your standard haunting movie and the scary moments are very obvious along with your standard twist ending. That and it moves at a really fast pace with almost no character developement or any real story. You may want to wait till it comes to the Redbox.
If there was one I'd be hard pressed to know what it was. I found the movie to be a slight rip off of the archetype of The Ring in that even though the main character seemingly does what the ghost wants, in this case he really did, the spirit is so vengeful that it won't be pleased and will still then kill you. You could say that in the end when Radcliffe and his little boy (who were quite bluntly, murdered) are reunited with his wife that it has some sort of bittersweet end message, but what that message is still is lost to me.

Dolphus Raymond has a reputation for being a major alcoholic. His partner happens to be a black woman yet he is white, so his excuse for being with a black woman is his supposed excessive alcohol intake. Yet, in the book it divulges that the bottle he drinks from is actually coca-cola. So his character is then explored, he is a very nice man and happens to love a black woman but knows he will not be accepted in to the white community if he was not drunk.
