If you are talking about Bleach episode 342, she is not fading away from the world of the living, it's just Ichigo that sees her disappear because he looses his Spirit Energy/Powers in that episode. if this is not what you mean then someone can Improve this Answer.

He tried to wake her up with his voice, but she wouldn't wake up. (Don't worry, she wakes up eventually.) He kisses her and says something along the lines of, "Ichigo. Ichigo please...wake up. Wake up for me."

No one, he was born a soul reaper but deserted the soul society to go to the world of the living where he met Ichigo's mom. If they found him and he hadn't come to fight Aizen then he would probably be dead because the Shinigami would kill him for desertion.
