What happens with Bonnie and Damon i 'The Vampire Diaries'?

In the Vampire Diaries books, Damon ends up with Bonnie and calls her "My little birdie" EWW ( I know very cheesy ). But in the TV show, Bonnie does not seem to be attracted to Damon and vice-versa. If Damon and Bonnie end up together I will be devastated.

Damon only has eyes for Eleanor so doesn't get together with either of them. but if it helps Damon used to be Katherine's boyfriend ages a go

Well, Damon still loves Katherine but he won't admit it, but Katherine doesn't like Damon anymore. She likes Stefan. Also, Damon is in love with Elena and would do anything for her, and Katherine is evil and destroying Elena and her friends and family so he would never do that to Elena, although he knows Elena does not feel the same way about him. Adding to that, Bonnie hates all vampires and Damon especially and would never even think of getting together with him. And, Bonnie currently likes this other male witch (warlock), although I can't recall his name.

Her grandmother died in Episode 14 due to overexertion trying to break Emily's spell on the tomb. Bonnie left to attend her funeral but is now back and blames Stefan and Damon for her death.
