Lionel Hampton was a famous American jazz vibraphonist, pianist, band leader, percussionist, , and actor. He was born on April 20, 1908, and died on August 31, 2002. He worked with Benny Goodman (another famous jazz player) and Quincy Jones (an actor). While working with Benny Goodman, he worked with the Lionel Hampton Orchestra as well. He eventually left Goodman and formed his own big band.
