Initially, Hammond, the CEO of the corporation that put Jurassic Park together, is worried that the park will fail and he will be crushed financially trying to repay investors who backed the idea. (When we "drop in" on the timeline, many millions have already been spent and Jurassic Park is poised to open.) Later, he fears for the safety of personnel and then for his grandchildren, who are caught outside and exposed somewhere in the park after everything goes haywire. Later, his fear is extended to the point where he is afraid for his own life when raptors overrun the compound where he's stuck with other staffers. (This from the movie).
