No this does not kill weeds, It will only kill insects.
A pest is an animal which is detrimental to humans or human concerns. It is a loosely defined term, often overlapping with the related terms vermin, weeds, parasites and pathogens. In its broadest sense, a pest is a competitor of humanity.
You don't have to; they'll grow by themselves. Weeds have the uncanny ability of spreading and surviving, unless of course, a human comes and unearths the pest.
Depends on what sort of "pest" we're dealing with here. Pests don't have to be bugs, they can be deer, predators like wolves, cougars or coyotes, unwanted weeds, or someone in your family. You'll have to find a way to deal with each accordingly: for instance, bugs can be dealt with with insecticides, weeds with herbicide, predators with a gun, or your family by standing up for yourself or whatever else you can do without resorting to violence.
In US agriculture, weeds are the number one targeted pest, followed by insects. Arthropods (such as mites), diseases, and rodents are also important targets.
Over use of chemical pesticides and herbicides can lead to resistant bugs or weeds. It is quite a common issue now in conventional horticulture and agriculture. Alternating the chemicals used will help to stop a pest building up that resistance, using mixed cropping rather than a monoculture helps with pest control and the use of cover crops will help keep weeds at bay as well. Cheers, Barry.
Weed significant a pest because these are plants that is grow where it is not wanted therefore when weed grown near the crops, they cause damage on it or they can interfere with the interest of a farmer as weeds became pest.
Paul DeBach has written: 'Biological control by natural enemies' -- subject(s): Agricultural pests, Biological control, Insect pests, Pest control, Pests, Weeds
Plants (weeds)Animals (insects, arthropods, rodents, birds, etc.)Micro-organisms (bacteria, viruses, algae, etc.)Fungi (blights, mildews, molds, and rust)
an insecticide is anything that kills insects. if said insect is a crop damaging pest then killing it will help the farmer gain a better crop
Historically, you sent someone out into your garden or field with a hoe, and they chopped weeds or pulled them out by the roots. Chemical weeding involves spraying herbicides that target the most common weeds--not including the crop. Today, you might release an insect that feeds on the weeds but leaves the crop alone. These biological methods are not in common use yet. The biological method to get rid of tomato worms (horn worms), for example, is to pluck them off and stomp on them. Of course, that is pest control, not weeding.
