The United States government shares more than several similar elements with the Roman Republic (especially since the founders of this country had based much of its structure on Roman principles), such as the incorporation and abilities of the Senate, the separation of powers (executive, legislative, and judiciary), and actual limitations on the terms of the leaders of the executive branch.

A key similarity between the US Constitution and all state constitutions is the establishment of a system of government based on the principles of democracy and the rule of law. Both types of constitutions outline the structure of government, including the separation of powers among the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. Additionally, they safeguard individual rights and liberties, although the specific rights protected can vary between the federal and state levels. Both documents serve as the supreme legal frameworks within their respective jurisdictions.

In Rome there was an obvious divide between the rich and poor, and they were represented by difference branches of government. In the US, the constitution states that everyone is equal before the law regardless of wealth. The Roman constitution had three branches: the legislative (based on the Athens democracy), the executive (based on the Spartan oligarchy) and the judidical (based on the previous monarchy) and the US constitution was a vast improvement on this.
The US government has a representative democracy where the people elect representatives to run the government for them whereas Athens had a direct democracy where the people decide and solve the issues themselves. Hope this helps! :D
