the reason why pony boy and jhonny ran away was because they were scared they didnt want to get into trouble and they didnt want the rest of the scolcials to come after them and also the cops. Where they ran to was an old barn that was way out of town they cut there hair and bleached it and what they did was read abook and play cards. I read the book myself when i was in high school i really liked it because my sister was in a gang and they were like family so yeah i knda know what it is like
