Most language in one way or another expresses an opinion as well as communicating fact. Language only becomes "slanted" (deviating from the upright) when it is deceptive or manipulative rather than persuasive.

Examples. Saying someone "didn't have the guts to fight back." is a negative explanation of an event. Saying some "took the high road instead of taking a swing." is a positive explanation of an event.
