AICTE is fully loaded with the work of prescribing the norms and standards of teachers of the technical institutes. AICTE coluld not find time in last 25 years to frame the pay scales and service conditions for the Technical supporting and Non teaching staff in the engineering colleges. AICTE has prescribed only the staff pattern of non-teaching staff in the booklet "AICTE Norms and standards for technical institutes, 1990". Since then, AICTE is totally ignoring the technical supporting and Non teaching Staff of the colleges under its recognition. No such PAY SCALES for non teaching staff are prescribed by AICTE till Date. S S RAUT
As per AICTE norms 2010-11 and 2012-13 now polytechnic experience is equally considered for engineering college with PG qualification.

As per AICTE Norm you will require good academic record with at least first class at master level or at least 55% marks and NET/SET qualification. UGC norm not maintained any qualification for science teacher in engineering institutes. As per UGC norm NET/SET is mandatory for Science and other discipline but for Engineering Discipline there norm for engineering faculty but not for Science faculty in Engineering Discipline. Hence AICTE norm will be only norm for such posts. For more reference use revised UGC Norm declared on 30 June 2010 point 4.4.6.1 AND CORRIGENDUM F.
