Conoco, Amaco, Chevron, and Phillips are all major U.S. oil companies that did business in Somalia. In 1991, when the Somali Civil War began, business came to a halt. It is known there is still more oil and other Natural Resources there, but with the war in progress the companies are not able to tap them.
