The summers in the Chihuahuan Desert of west Texas can be quite hot, sometimes pushing 115 degrees or more. Summer evenings are usually quite pleasant though. Winters are generally quite mild and it is not unusual to have temperatures in the 60s and 70s. Rarely does the temperature drop below freezing for more than a few hours.
