There is little historical accuracy between the film '300' and the actual battle of Thermopylae . Such fictional elements include the scenes of close combat where the Spartans wore little armour other than the helmet and shield . Spartans fought in a full panoply of armour and in a tightly knit phalanx formation . There was a larger contingent of Theban infantry including the 'Sacred Band' numbering approximately 7000 infantry with Spartans included who held this narrow pass at Thermopylae . The film barely gives mention of the sea battle led by the Athenian admiral Themistocles . The success at sea over the Persians prevented a Persian out - flanking manoeuvre which would have allowed Persian infantry to bypass the Greek blocking force at the pass . Below is a related link to the Battle of Thermopylae which will provide in depth information ..
A lot of the movie is directly related to the movie. However, a lot of the time placements and when things happened were out of place. film is more focused on the students inside the class room the book is is more about te teen lifes the movie shows more of the teachera life & the book doesn't
there is no difference they both mean the exact same thing =)
The event of the removal of eyelids happened in the movie. However I seriously doubt it happened in real life. 'based on a true story' is a rough way of saying 'some things in this movie might be real, but most of them are not', for example; the spirit photography has happened in real life.
The movie was a fictionalized account of an actual historical event. It's incredibly fictionalized, however - and the movie isn't remotely similar to what happened in real life. The biggest difference being that in real life "the 300" - were slaughtered - none survived. It's best to think of Hollywood movies that are based on real events as a type of, "What if it had happened this way" story, and to not accept anything at face value.Documentaries are, in theory, supposed to be accurate depictions of real events. Even these however are often very skewed and misrepresented.A movie made for entertainment that is "based on a real event" can by-and-large be accepted as, "This event actually happened, and that's about all the accurate information we're going to use."
It was razed in the 1950's. See Wikipedia entry.
