What is duality or polarity principle in psychology?

Its the principle that animals (including humans) bond most with those that alternately are kind and cruel to them. The experiment used monkeys in 3 groups.Group 1 were just treated cruelly by their surrogate motherGroup 2 were just treated kindly by their surrogate motherGroup 3 were treated cruelly or kindly, in a random mannerThen the results were:Group 1 had no bondGroup 2 had a normal bondGroup 3 had the strongest bondThese (worrying) results imply that the strongest allegiance is obtained by being capriciously cruel and kind, like some barbaric tyrant.Additional notes:(a) I do not know if that 3rd group had also become neurotic, which is what you would expect.(b) I don't know if this has also been related to the Stockholm syndrome in terrorist hostages.

Who plays Borachio in Much Ado about Nothing the film?

The causes of Claudio's problems are both external and internal. The external cause of his problems is Don John, who is always feeding Claudio lies, first that Don Pedro has betrayed him, and second (and more convincingly) that Hero has betrayed him. But as we and Don John find out from how easily Claudio falls for the lie that Don Pedro has wooed Hero for himself, Claudio is susceptible to suggestions that Hero will go for other guys apart from him. He is inclined to jealousy, to the suspicion that he is being cuckolded, and to react violently and cruelly when these suspicions are aroused. He could have behaved like St. Joseph who found himself in a similar situation and thought to "divorce her quietly", but he didn't.

Why does Hamlet behave so cruelly towards Ophelia after his soliloquy in Act 3 Scene 1?

If you ask me, it's just because Hamlet is a natural born jack-@$$. Some people will try to defend him by pointing out that he has a reason to be angry about Ophelia's spying and is venting his frustrations; but honestly, what he says is extremely harsh. When I was reading it, I was surprised to see in the annotations that nunnery was a euphemism for brothel. I mean, ouch! Your father's just died, the prince who's been pursuing you has apparently gone crazy, and then he basically just snaps at you that you are trash and belong in a brothel. That's just cruel.

What is the adverb of cruel?

adverbs can describe verbs adjectives, and other adverbs. A dictionary would suggest that you use "cruelly" instead of "cruel" as an adverb: "he sneered cruelly" I can't think of a situation where "cruel" would be the adverb. A good test for adverbs is that: 1) They often have a (-y) suffix 2) They still make grammatical sense almost anywhere in the sentence: "cruelly, he sneered" ; "he cruelly sneered"; "he sneered cruelly" .

What is the comparative and superlative to the word cruelly?
