Domesticated dogs take no important role in the food chain because we usually feed them ourselves.

However, wild dogs take a greater role. They have as much importance as foxes, jackals, and similar animals, especially in the Canidae family. A wild dog's role could be to eat smaller herbivores or omnivores. They can also be scavengers.
