Operation Peter Pan was a program in which Cuban children were transported to the United States following the Communist revolution in which Fidel Castro took power. It's controversial. Some people feel that it rescued thousands of children from an oppressive government, others feel that it unnecessarily turned them into orphans by separating them from their parents.
Peter Pan (the character created by J. M. Barrie) is a boy who overheard his parents discussing what he was to be when he was a man but always wants to be a boy and to have fun! so he ran away to Neverland. Neverland is a place filled wiht pirates, indians, fairies, lost boys, and a crocodile forever chasing Captain Hook who ate his hand and liked the taste so much that he follows Hook licking his lips for the rest of him. He does not know any stories or how to sew pockets so he comes back to Earth to listen to stories by windows. One night, when listening to Cinderella by the Darling's nursery window, his shadow gets caught and is kept in a drawer in the nursery. he later comes back to get his shadow waking the young Wendy Darling who wakes her two brothers, John and Michael Darling, and Peter teaches them all how to fly and takes them to Neverland where he is the captain of the Lost Boys and Wendy becomes their "mother" and makes pockets for them, cares for them, and tells them stories. Peter is enemies with the Captian Jas Hook. Captain of the Jolly Rodger. he is also good friends with the fairie Tinker Bell, who is absurdly jealous of Wendy. Peter then becomes friends with one enemy, the indians, when saving the chief's daughter Tiger Lily from the pirates on Marooners Rock.
In summary, Peter Pan is the only boy who never grows up, who is quite conceited on all his incredible talents... who, all the while, misses his mother but would never let anyone else know.
In the book and stage play by James Matthew Barrie; About a Boy - a 4 or 5 years old, who ran away from home when he was just a baby, because his parents planned his future but he never wanted to grow up but always to be a little boy and have fun - at least according to his own words. He always does remain a little boy because, he lived those few years amongstt fairies in Kensington Gardens until they took him to Neverland, which is an island somewhere hidden on this earth, where all chidlren go, when they're dreaming but he got there while awake. In Neverland no one ages a day, so Peter Pan remains a 4 to 5 year old child. The story is about his adventures in Neverland, with a girl Wendy Darling, her 2 little brothers, other lost boys, his fairy Tinkerbell, and the villain - pirate captain James Hook, who is obsessed with trying to murder Peter. The basic theme of the story is every boy's (especially Peter's) mother issues, to which the girl Wendy Darling addresses.
In a nutshell; Peter Pan is a dark but very childlike story about a mother's love or lack of it and about lost children and eternal childhood. Originally there is no two-way romance between Peter Pan and Wendy but only Wendy feels romantically towards Peter, who only sees and wants her as a mother-figure.

One View:
A common interpretation of Peter Pan is that he represents the Inner Child, the energetic, playful side of every human being, often forgotten or denied in the process of maturing.
Peter's ability to fly represents the whimsy of the human imagination, taking us to places far and near. Wendy, near the end of the tale, can no longer fly; Peter says that she is "too old"- that is, she's become too serious and "adult" and forgotten how to imagine and play.
Peter's tale reminds us to nurture our own Inner Child and that there is a place for play and whimsy in our lives even as adults- that we can grow older without "growing up."
Another view:
The real meaning of peter pan is having an out of body experience, thus flying. that is also why it is Neverland, because your spirit is eternal, never gets old. You also must be in a happy frame of mind to OOBE, thus think of a happy thought.

I think the message was, while we all get older, we don't have to give up the beauty of being young.
One message that you could take from the movie Peter Pan is that you can do anything if you believe in yourself.
