∙ 14y agoThe original Hans Christian Anderson tale was a sermon on the errors of Race Mixing, which first costs the voice- and then the life, of the title character- Not so the Disney version which also seems to make Parental Defiance look (Cool!) as if Kids didn"t get in enough murky water on their own.

Ariel vows never to tell Melody about Atlantica, mermaids and even her grandfather, King Triton. When Melody is 12 years old, she is been sneaking out into the sea, longing to become a mermaid.
