Well from what i've personally expierienced in order to use a shedinja effectivly you need to assess and know everything its weak against aswell as the pokemon your about to battle and what moves it might know that could do it in.
Online battles id advise it to be left behind people usually ragequit the battle if they havn't got anything that can get rid of it rather than let you win. In game however its very useful especially for the elite four
If you are to use one keep it as a back up pokemon rather than a main player but the best moves to give this pokemon are :
. Double Team (so that while they are trying to find a way to kill it you can raise your chances of evading a lethal move)
. Toxic (will slowly kill them even if shedinja is no more)
. Telekenisis (eliminates ground moves from hitting it)
. Protect (just incase you arn't sure about what moves your opponent knows)
